Mechanics - Punt On this play, we see why the LJ must stay on the line of scrimmage until the ball is snapped (can't release too early) because we have a possible encroachment foul. Once the ball is kicked, the BJ must stay between the hash marks and box the play in with the LJ. There is a boarderline block where the officials must rule legal side block or illegal block in the back. At the end of the play, the LJ needs to square off the spot.
