SSOA Basketball Officials and the NCHSAA will annually recognize an individual who has made significant contributions to the avocation of basketball officiating in Southeastern North Carolina. This individual has distinguished himself or herself through the following (but not limited to):
(1) Mentoring other officials
(2) Serving as a significant leader
(3) Excelling in on-court work and/or
(4) Through other exemplary support of officiating and high school basketball. Student-athletes, coaches, and officials involved in the sport in our region have benefited from this individual's efforts to make "the game" the best it can be.
Nomination Guidelines

Each year, the Basketball Regional Supervisor will issue a call for nominations of an individual who meets the criteria listed above.

Letters or emails of nominations should not exceed two (2) double-spaced, typed pages and should outline the positive impact the nominee has made upon the Basketball program.

Nominations for the award will be received between November 1st and March 1st of each year and should be submitted to Anthony Maynor at amaynor (at) hotmail.com. A committee of three (3) basketball officials will need
to evaluate the nominations and select the award recipient.
A decision as to the recipient will be made prior to the Annual SSOA Basketball All Officials meeting with the recognition to take place at that meeting each year.
